The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.” — Psalms 19:1-4

How magnificent the splendor of the night sky! How marvelous the vast array of heavenly bodies so propitiously placed to adorn that moment in our day when darkness reigns! There is a wondrous universe about us that brings us to a place of unquestionable humility when we consider the vastness of such an immeasurable quantity.

We live in the outer suburbs of the Milky Way Galaxy on the Third Planet orbiting the Sun, which is but a single star out of 200 billion stars within our small neighborhood we call our Milky Way Galaxy. How quickly, in one sentence we say, what is so incredibly vast to consider and understand! Our orbit around the sun is on the average some 92 million miles away from the scorching ball of fire we call our sun; a broiling cauldron of continuously exploding hydrogen bombs. Yet, the light from that magnificent ball of fire is the source of energy that sustains life on earth, because its distance is exactly right for water to exist in liquid form. But, the distance is so vast, that it is hard for us to capture, when we simply say it is 93 million miles away.

Light travels at the incredible speed of 186,283 miles per second. If I were to shoot a bullet at the speed of light around the world, it would go through my head, at least three times before I could duck and yet it takes over 8 minutes for the light that leaves the surface of the sun to reach our planet. If our sun would turn off, it would take some 8 and three-quarter minutes for us to find out. Astronomers call this distance between the sun and the Earth, an Astronomical Unit (AU).

Our nearest star neighbor in the Milky Way Galaxy is the star system known as Alpha Centauri and it is composed of two stars roughly the same size as our sun (Alpha Centauri A and  B) and a third smaller companion called Proxima Centauri, which is a little further apart from them and closer to us. The two larger stars, A and B are gravitationally bound, but scientists are not sure that Proxima Centauri is gravitationally bound to A and B. If we were to travel in a rocket at the speed of light toward our nearest neighbor, it would take us 4.2 years to get to Proxima Centauri (the closest star to the earth outside of the sun) and 4.4 years to reach A and B.

In other words Proxima Centauri, our closest neighbor is some 13,000 astronomical units or 1.9 billion kilometers or 1.2 billion miles away from us, a number that is quite staggering to the mind. If after visiting Alpha Centauri we would travel another 16 years further away at the same speed of light and would systematically explore all the stars that are found within that distance from our sun, we would have explored only 127 stars. Astronomers have discovered about 127 stars within the distance of 20 light years from our sun. But that is just a drop in the bucket in astronomical terms, for our Milky Way Galaxy stretches from tip to tip about 100, 000 light years across. But, this number is so large that we scarcely can appreciate its’ significant breadth. If the sun were the size of a golf ball, then the 20 light years sphere extending from our sun would have a radius of 5,800 kilometers or 3,600 miles.

Our Milky Way Galaxy contains some 200 billion stars in a flat rotating spiral that is thicker at the middle than in the distal spirals. We are located in the outskirts of the spiral, some 28,000 light years from the core and some 20 light years above the central plane of the galactic disk. Our solar system is traveling through space in an orbit around the Milky Way galactic core at about 220 kilometers per second. At this speed it will take the sun 220 million years to complete one single orbit around the galaxy. In other words, the galactic year for our sun takes 220 million earth years.

If the sun were the size of a golf ball, the Milky Way Galaxy would stretch out from end to end some 18 million miles across or 29 million kilometers. Our Sun would be some 5, 800 kilometers (3,600 miles) above the plane of the galactic disc and some 8 million kilometers (5 million miles) from the central core.

But, the Milky Way is just one of over a trillion galaxies, which we have observed in the universe. Our closest Galaxy is Andromeda, a beautiful spiral Galaxy some 2 million light years away. It has the further distinction of being the most distant object visible to the naked eye.

But, these distances are still so immense that we can hardly grasp its immense size. If again, the size of the sun were the size of a golf ball, this would mean that the Milky way would stretch half way to Mars and Andromeda would in turn be some 586 million kilometers (364 million miles) from the golf ball, or just inside the orbit of Jupiter.

We are all space travelers, even while residing within our homes. But we travel not only through space, but through time. And though we say that we are in the present, each time we look upon a star we are looking into the past, for the light that hits our eyes had to travel great distances before reaching our planet. Yet, the stars have a much deeper significance than most men realize for they not only let us see the past, but in a very real sense they are a window into the future.

In Milton ’s epic work, Paradise Lost, he records a fictional conversation between Adam and the angel Raphael, who according to Hebrew tradition is one of the seven Archangels of God. In this exchange Milton evokes that common feeling shared by all humanity, when considering the immensity of our universe and our relative insignificance. Why should this immense universe, with trillions of stars, exist only to give light to this speck called Earth?

“…merely to officiate light
Round this opacious earth, this punctual spot
One day and night, in all their vast array
Useless besides?”

Milton asks the question for humanity, guised as Adam:

“How nature, wise and frugal, could commit
Such disproportions, with superfluous hand
So many nobler bodies to create?”

And then, in the person of Raphael, Milton answers his own question, albeit incompletely, by saying; “Heaven’s wide circuit” is evidence of “The Maker’s high magnificence”. While it is true that the universe is the evidence of the magnificence of God’s power and mind, it is more than that.

Philosophers and scientists in every culture and era have asked the same question: “Why should so many stars in the universe (estimated at 10 to the 22nd power) be created only to illumine such an insignificant speck as the planet earth? The answer is found within the Scriptures, God has written a message to humanity in the constellations formed by the stars, this was the original and true intent of the original Zodiac.

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.” (Psalms 19:1-4)

What is this speech uttered day and night that cannot be heard, which yet permeates the planet? Does our human history bear the evidence of such a record of this speech? We shall see!

Evidence of a Singular Ancestral Progenitor of Man

We have already discussed in my previous books of this series how in the late 1980’s Allan Wilson, a geneticist at the University of California, Berkeley, (Along with another research group at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia), were involved in the study of the DNA of the mitochondria. The mitochondria is an organelle of the cell, which produces the energy for the cell to accomplish the many and varied biochemical processes necessary for life. It is called the cell “power plant” or energy factory. The uniqueness of the mitochondria is that the DNA found in it is exclusively passed down from the mother. The mitochondrial DNA, as it turns out, passes from generation to generation only through the female line. Since the male DNA does not mix with the mothers in this specific organelle, then the DNA remains largely unchanged allowing us to trace the maternal line back through time.

Samples of placenta from women representing all racial groups were souped in a blender, spun in a centrifuge, mixed with a detergent that breaks up the cells, dyed fluorescent and spun once more in the centrifuge. This of course is not the normal DNA that is in our cells; the DNA in the nucleus of our cells is the byproduct of both parents and is the deciding factor in all our physical characteristics. While the mitochondrial DNA has only the genetic components from the mother, therefore they do not reshuffle in the process of passing it down to the offspring, so that it remains largely unchanged, except for small deviations caused by infrequent mutations.

The results of the mitochondrial DNA studies were astounding. The actual difference between the varied races was so small and insignificant that it was completely unexpected. The actual physical differences that separate Australian Aborigines from Europeans and Eskimos and Negroid are totally irrelevant in comparison to our genetic compatibility. It turns out that we are much more closely related than anthropologists had ever previously imagined.

Richard Leaky, voicing the popular thought that most anthropologists have traditionally exclaimed, was of the opinion that there was never a single place or center, where modern man had originated. It is the belief of the majority of evolutionists that humans, slowly but inexorably, evolved from ancestral apes in different parts of the world simultaneously. The evidence that these geneticists have discovered totally contradicts this evolutionary claim. As a matter of fact, the evidence points to a common origin in a singular matriarch, which they have ironically named, “Mitochondrial Eve”.

But, the evidence of a common ancestral progenitor extends beyond genetics. The commonalities found in all the major cultures of the world in regard to their origins, the cataclysm of the Great Flood, the universally held belief in the ancient cultures that we possessed a unified worldwide language at the beginning of our civilization are surely evidence of the historicity of these events. We shall discuss these and many more commonalities in “The Secret of the Lost Knowledge”. But, there is yet another enigma for the evolutionists; a commonality, which is unexplainably held by all of the major cultures of the world and that, is the topic of this book.

The ancient Zodiac is practically the same throughout the world and, as such, is considered by most scholars to be of great antiquity. The Scriptural narrative in combination with the oral traditions held by the different nations of the world provide for us the only logical answer to this evolutionary dilemma.

Where did the signs come from? These scholars discovered that their antiquity cannot be ascertained; no matter how far we go, they are always still there! The earliest recorders of the signs describe something, which happened prior to their day… According to Arabic tradition, the signs came from Seth and Enoch. This tradition is interesting since it links these signs to the grandson of Adam and says that Enoch and his father Seth (both men of faith) were the founders of this ancient understanding of the heavens.” (The Real Meaning of the Zodiac, by James Kennedy, CRM Publishers, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. 1997, pg. 13) (Emphasis mine)

From the time that Adam walked the earth, up until the Great Flood, humanity thrived in a lush and productive planet for several thousand years. Great men of God like Adam, Enoch and Noah taught God’s truth in a progressively wicked and violent society. There is no record in the scriptures that a written scripture, such as the one we now have, existed back then. What we do know from tradition is that the Zodiac is thought to have existed even before the Great Flood.

For those of us that are city dwellers and have never had the experience of looking at a desert night sky, the spectacular sight of millions of stars which normally cannot be seen due to the interference of the city lights, is to say the least, breathtaking.

During my adolescent years, I had become a fervent camper, as a Boy Scout. I remember lying in my sleeping bag, looking up at the wondrous star filled night sky in the Florida Everglades, unimpeded by the city lights. What fascination!

I diligently searched for the Big Dipper in order to orient myself with the other constellations. Soon, I could make out the North Star of the Little Bear and a host of other constellations I needed to know for one of my merit badges. How the authors of the Zodiac were able to see some of the constellations they ascribed to the particular cluster of stars, escaped my perception. Yet, in every corner of the world, every major civilization contains roughly the same assignations to the constellations. How could this be?

If I were to choose forty separate persons, for the purpose of assigning them the task of independently creating constellations in order to map out the starry sky; the result would undoubtedly be forty different zodiacs, with very little in common at all. Yet, evolutionists expect us to accept by faith that independently evolving cultures, separated by vast distances, mountains and oceans, were able to see the same design in the starry sky. I’m afraid this requires more faith than I possess, for I am a skeptic at heart and reason tells me that there must be a more logical explanation.

It is infinitely more logical to deduce that at one time all the different cultures had been given access to a single interpretation of the zodiac, from which they have, even after several millennia digressed only some slight variations.

The fact is that there is very little relation between the groupings of the stars and the shape that has been assigned to them seemingly arbitrarily. A few resemble faintly the image of the constellation they are supposed to portray, that is, once you are told what image they are supposed to represent. But, scarcely would anyone argue that such subjective deduction could have miraculously been ascertained universally by mere chance or coincidence.

Their design is quite arbitrary, and it is in my mind, inevasible proof that at some point this arbitrary convention must have been received by all the developing nations from a solitary source. The logical conclusion is that they must have been derived from an ancestral progenitor of all the present cultures that inhabit our planet; a fact that contradicts the evolutionary perspective and supports the biblical narrative.

This deduction flies right in the face of the evolutionary model, which insists that the races evolved independently and is therefore, a source of frustration to the evolutionist that have long believed that the different cultures in humanity have evolved independently of each other in isolated regions of our planet.

What all-important need or evolutionary selective pressure could have caused all of humanity to uniformly develop and maintain a single Zodiac universally?  It is preposterous to believe that the universal acceptance of the zodiac in every nation could have evolved by chance. And it would be equally preposterous to assume that there is some behavioral or genetic component that is responsible for the universal creation and acceptance of the original Zodiac, as some have the audacity to propose.

It is immensely more logical to assume that, at some point in time, humanity funneled this information through a singular source who may have been the ancestral progenitor of all of present day humanity. The biblical narrative gives us both a reason for the very development of the zodiac, as well as an explanation for its universal acceptance by all cultures. According to the biblical narrative, all of humanity is generated from the few survivors of the Great Deluge and for that reason all developing cultures afterward initially possessed this ancient knowledge.

Some, in an attempt to find some universal need for the contrivance of the Zodiac have proposed that it was developed by man to regulate them in the times and seasons appropriate for the time of planting and harvesting of the crops and for other human activities such as fishing, hunting and the tending of cattle and sheep.

“Abbe’ Pluche, in his History of the Heavens, thinks to exhaust the whole matter after this manner, though it is hard to see the need for such high and elaborate memorials of what was otherwise far more obvious to the senses. And although some of these signs apply, and have been used this way, the abbe’ is obliged to admit that the scheme does not fit to Egypt, where many say these signs originated; neither does it fit anywhere else; whilst it all the Decans of these signs wholly unexplained. And however well the theory may here and there fall in with some of the signs, it is more perplexed and disabled when it comes to such as Scorpio, since the scorpion is nowhere a thing of game or cultivation, and has no particular season. The best the abbe’ can do with it on this theory is, to expound it as a sign of autumnal diseases, to tell the people when they were most likely to be sick! Had the abbe’ taken the very significant hints given in some of his quotations, telling how these signs were explained to those initiated into the more famous ancient mysteries, he would have saved himself such puerilities, and found what he so trifled with to be the records of truths relating to the highest spiritual and eternal interests of man.” (The Gospel in the Stars, by Joseph Seiss, Kregel Publications, Grand Rapids Michigan, 1972, pg. 43, 44)

While it is naturally true that the constellations in the heavens do correlate with seasons and therefore can be useful to man in ascertaining the precise beginning of these seasons, hardly could it be said that such an elaborate system was necessary to compute these times. This use was but a side benefit harnessed by the understanding of the Zodiac. On the other hand, the scripture gives us the very reason for the development of the zodiac; for they were assigned by God to signify something beyond and additional to the obvious. That is, they were intended to be “for signs” (Genesis 1:14). In other words, God meant for these stars to convey a special teaching beyond that which can be naturally ascertained by their mere observation. Simply put, the purpose of the constellations is to show us the way to God.

The very word Zodiac comes from a root word- “zoad” associated with the Hebrew word “sodi”. In the ancient Indo-European language this word meant, “The Way” or “the Life”. In Sanskrit, an evolved language from the proto Indo-European language, the meaning is “A Path”, “A Step”. It is no coincidence that Jesus called Himself, “The Way” and “The Life”. The way to what?

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes unto the Father except through me’.” (John 14:6)

The answer is, the way to the Father, or in other words, the way to heaven! The fact is that the Chaldeans, the Egyptians, the Mayans, the Assyrians, the Chinese, the Hindu, the Celts, all the major cultures in the world have their religious beliefs intertwined with the meaning of the Zodiac. This is no coincidence either, for the Zodiac is in fact, as we shall see, the prophetic message of God to man; the Holy Scriptures, if you will, of the First Earth. The Hebrew Scriptures assert that the stars contain a message, which when properly interpreted can bring illumination and understanding of God’s Way.

For example, the New Testament affirms that the stars were responsible for guiding the three Magi, or Persian Astrologers, to the knowledge of the birth of the Messiah. (Matthew 2: 1-11) They showed the Wise Men the time in which the Messiah would be born, and traveling toward the star, they found Him in Bethlehem .

These astronomical signs we call the Zodiac, have in fact, from their inception foretold the future prophetic history of the Messiah and His relation to humanity. God in His omniscience is able, from the beginning, to tell us the end. His creation has left the indelible fingerprint of a Master Creator in order that man could, without excuse, know the truth. Now, it must be understood that these Persian Astrologers were not practicing the corrupted form of modern astrology that is popularly known today. They understood the message of the stars as they were intended originally, to exclaim the virtues and ministry of the Messiah and the Way to the Father. The concept of personal divination claimed by modern astrologers is, in every sense, satanic and a counterfeit of the original purpose of the Zodiac. True astrology, the original astrology, before it became corrupted by the Impostor, is the message of the Creator to man.

“For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20) (Emphasis mine)

O Lord our Lord, How majestic is thy name in all the earth. Who hast displayed thy splendor above the heavens!… When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man that thou dost care for him?” (Psalms 8:1,3)

The heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge.” (Psalms 50:6)

It is abundantly clear that God meant for the stars of heaven to be more than an adornment for the night skies. What is this speech that is not made with words in Psalms 19? What is this utterance spoken by the stars, which goes to the end of the world or to the end of time? How can the stars declare His righteousness in Psalms 50?

When one peers into the starry night sky, it is natural to conclude that the Creator must have been omnipotent in order to create such a wondrous and magnificent universe. But how does the mere observation of the heavens declare his other attributes; like His righteousness?

There is a message in the actual constellations, and the meaning of the names assigned to the specific stars, which comprise them. These have provided all of mankind, from the earliest of times, in every culture, the central message of God to mankind; the epic, cosmic battle between good and evil. They foretell the story of the coming of the Messiah or Deliverer; the redemption of humanity; and lastly the defeat of our adversary the Devil. The Zodiac is the gospel written in the stars, it is His “witness in the sky”.

Ironically, some who have written on the subject, with the intent of proving their evolutionary bias, have done a great deal of the homework for us in this matter. In their attempts to show that the Christian faith has arisen out of the story depicted in the ancient Zodiac, they have connected them convincingly. These individuals, such as Bailly in his History of Astronomy and Volney in Les Runes, in their contempt for the Christian faith have unintentionally substantiated their validity. In other words, they have from a non-Christian perspective, given us the historical research and proof of the interconnectedness of the Zodiac and the gospel of the Scriptures. God is still sovereign!

“He along with Dupuis and Bailly and a number of French skeptics, gathered together a collection of all the numerous ancient mythologies of the various people of the world, and demonstrated that these showed a remarkable and astounding correspondence to the teachings concerning Christ and His salvation.

They said that these mythologies—which often involve interpretations of the constellations of the Zodiac—very clearly long antedated the revelation and coming of Christ into the world. It was obvious to them that Christianity was nothing more than a borrowing from pagan mythology dressed up in Hebrew dress and pawned off on a credulous world. Thus, many were led to a deeper examination of this concept and to some rather remarkable findings. One of the conclusions was the fact that none of the skeptics were able to tell when these ancient mythologies, and particularly this understanding of the signs of the Zodiac - the constellations of the sky.” (The Real Meaning of the Zodiac, Dr James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., 1997, pg.12, 13) (Emphasis mine)

Hebrew and Arabic tradition tells us that the Zodiac was designed by one of the greatest prophets of God, Enoch, possibly in conjunction with Adam’s son, Seth, who was also the father of Enoch. We may never know with exact certitude just when the Zodiac was developed, but what we do know is:

  1. It must have been of immense importance for all of humanity to have accepted it worldwide.
  2. The traditions state that the Zodiac is in fact antediluvian.
  3. The names of the stars carry a meaning, which correlates with and substantiates the motif of that particular constellation.
  4. The three Decans or side constellations that surround the particular 12 constellations of the Zodiac also, carry a sort of “mini vignette” that correlates with the central message of that particular constellation, which bring the concept of that particular zodiac sign to completeness.

Given that, from a purely scientific point of view, the mitochondrial DNA definitively points to the development of all of humanity from a singular source, it makes the most logical sense to accept reality as the facts depict it, rather than trying to force-fit a square peg into a round hole.

The word, Zodiac, as previously stated, is derived from an ancient Indo European word, which described “The Way” and which later in its etymological evolution became the Greek word, which means “Life”. It is the same root word from which we derive the word “zoo” and “zoology”, meaning the study of living creatures. Thus, the underlying meaning is that the stars are intrinsically intertwined with the progress of life and human history and more specifically the way to eternal life. Ancient true astrology was then the method of declaring the “Way of God to Life” for all of humanity. In contrast, modern astrology is simply a corrupted and satanic counterfeit of the original Zodiac intended to obscure God’s Way. Their counterfeit purpose has been designed to mesh with the occultist doctrine of esoteric (hidden) knowledge. That is, they are now presented as a medium to special “gnosis”. But, this should not be a surprise to any student of history; truth has always been attacked and corrupted in every generation and in every culture. The truth has invariably been changed into a lie by the great deceiver. Like the rest of Satan’s religions, modern astrology points to the self, instead of to the Savior and to the overall history of humanity, as it was originally intended.

In contrast, the ancient and genuine astrology told of the future of humanity as a whole. It was intended to inform humanity of the prophetic events that would shape the future of humanity and the rest of the universe. While modern astrology changed this lofty purpose, to foretell the future of the individual (personal divination). This distortion or adulteration of this original purpose was first developed around 600 BC in Greece. Here, the Pythia of the occult temples first used astrology as a medium for ascertaining ones own future or behavioral characteristics; a practice that is anathema to God. Satan has so successfully replaced the ancient and true astrology, with its present counterfeit, that most individuals today have absolutely no idea of its original intent.

However, the actual corruption of the overall purpose or story of the Zodiac began as far back as the time preceding the Tower of Babel . Here the different signs began to be considered as representing different gods and the plan of Satan to establish polytheism as a counter to the monotheistic religion brought over to the postdiluvian world by Noah was at its inception. But it was not until 600 BC that the occultist aspect of personal divination became an integral part of astrology. Today, the overriding emphasis of the counterfeit astrology is the prognostication or divination of the future of the individual, who in the majority of cases is unaware that he is now delving in the occult and subsequently consorting with the doctrines of demons.

The scriptures, of course, outright condemn the prognosticators of the corrupted astrology and clearly delineate the future damnation of those involved in personal divination:

“Let now the astrologers, those who prophesy by the stars, those who predict by the new moons, stand up and save you from what will come upon you. Behold, they have become like stubble, fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame.” (Isaiah 47:13b,14a)

The original purpose of the Zodiac is therefore clear, for those who have eyes to see and the eternal, immutable, absolute truths borne, from the mind of God, resound from the very vault of the heavens, with a clear and constant message going out to the very ends of the earth throughout all times, of the deliverance of man from the hands of the Destroyer. It is the message of His love toward us and His redemption promise is sure and true, through the work of the Messiah born both of God and man. These truths are made evident to all who humbly seek the face of God and are open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.” (Psalms 19:1-4)

“The witness in the sky is faithful” (Psalms 89:37)

The Sun, the Moon and the Planets

There are a number of facts that if objectively analyzed by the reader would dispel any doubt that at one time all of humanity developed from a singular point. That is, history was funneled through the waist of an hourglass from which all, later nations then diverged. Besides the indisputable mitochondrial DNA evidence and the universality of the Zodiac, there is yet another curious anomaly for the evolutionist; one of the time divisions accepted by humanity practically worldwide is the week.

From time immemorial this has been one of the basic divisions of time used in every culture. The ancient Chaldeans, Persians, Hindus, Chinese, Egyptians and Celts all have a seven day week, and remarkably in many of these civilizations each day is named after the five visible planets plus the sun and the moon. Although the first day of the week does not always correspond, the consequential succession of the days is uniformly the same.

There are in fact only 7 planets in our solar system besides the earth. The last supposed planet named Pluto is in fact not a planet but an asteroid composed mostly of ice. Initially it was thought to be about the size of the earth, but scientists now know that it is smaller than our moon, with a diameter of about 1,400 miles. This orbiting ice- chunk belongs to a belt of similar asteroids that form a ring around the circumference of our solar system (The Kuiper belt). Pluto is simply the largest ice chunk of hundreds of these orbiting asteroids. In 2002 astronomers from the California Institute of Technology working in the Mount Palomar Observatory discovered another large asteroid measuring some 800 miles across and named it Quaoar. In 2004 the same group discovered another large asteroid orbiting the sun approximately 84 billion miles out with a diameter of about 1,100 miles across and named it Sedna. Sedna has a highly elliptical solar orbit, which takes 10,500 years to complete. Objects like these abound in the icy debris field, called the Kuiper Belt that extends beyond the orbit of
Neptune, but these are not planets.

Just how much our antediluvian ancestors knew about astronomy is not clear, but I suspect they knew much more than evolutionary scientists are willing to admit.

Unfortunately, much of the antediluvian knowledge was lost as the result of the Great Flood. Noah’s family composed of a grand total of eight human beings. Unfortunately, with their finite and limited mental capacity as mere humans, these were now left as the final repository of all the technology known to man before the Great Flood.

As a result, much was lost and to make matters worse, much was later corrupted as the nations were divided and communication between them was hampered by the  barriers of language and geography. The explosion in technology credited to the 20th century was due to the singular overriding fact that modern telegraph, radio and then ultimately satellites closed the global community into one interconnected communal village. Technology increases with the accumulation of communicated knowledge. It stands to reason then that as communication increases so does technology. The dark ages serve to prove the antithesis, as society became disconnected into the compartmentalized feudal system, technology decreased proportionately.

The cultures that developed immediately after the Great Flood included the sun and the moon as part of the seven days of the week, ignoring Neptune and Uranus. Thus the week was divided by the names of the day that corresponded to the sun and the moon and the first five planets, not including the earth. For some reason they sought to create a time division, which included five planets and the sun and the moon, which when added together makes seven days.

The key numbers here are seven and three: the number seven corresponds to the number of planets that are circling the solar system and which we can observe from the earth and the number three is comprised of the Sun, moon and earth. We will discuss later the number three and the theological interplay between the sun, moon and earth.

The number 7 then remains one of the crucial numbers in the universe, and its universal preeminence, in the ancient cultures, is well documented. What possible evolutionary selective pressure could engineer such a feat?  The week is not related to any natural division of time that could be deduced from such natural processes as the cycle of the moon, or the revolutions of the Earth, or the tides of the ocean or even the seasons. The seven-day week seems to be an arbitrary choice, yet it is universally accepted.  I wonder if evolutionists are also looking for a ‘week’ or a number ‘7’ gene, some  “primordial time unit sensing gene,” which could explain this enigma?

On the other hand, this universal acceptance can be best understood as derived from the Creation account, since God claims that in 6 days he created the heavens and the earth and on the seventh day he rested. He then assigned the Sabbath or Saturn’s Day as a rest day for humanity.

The preeminence of the number 7 is not, therefore, accidental in God’s economy, and there is also the indirect evidence of this, in that it is reflected in esoteric numerology as Satan counterfeits all that God does. God has seven Archangels, which He refers to variably as His “seven spirits” or His “seven lamps” or His “seven eyes,” through which He rules the heavens (Zechariah 3: 9, 4:2,10).

Nothing that God created in the heavens or on earth is without design and significance. Seven is the number of God’s design for the completion of perfection. This number is then used throughout the entire biblical narrative to accentuate the completion of certain timetables in correlation to the overall timetable of man’s history.

For example, the prophecy given to Daniel who relates the time of the death of the Messiah is seventy times seven, and it encompasses a crucial aspect of the history of man in relation to and the Church and the end times (see book on Judaism, “Re-crossing the River Jordan”). The length of Jacob’s trouble is seven years, which is later reflected in the New Testament as the seven years of The Great Tribulation (see “The Coming Prince of Peace”). Theologians refer to the number seven, as God’s number and it is also reflected in the heavens through many of the constellations. In the sign of Taurus there are two groups of stars, which number seven known as the Pleiades and the Hyades. These each have seven visible stars to the naked eye, which are extremely significant in the prophetic message of the stars and which outlined the moment of the end of the antediluvian world and is thought by the Mayans to also predict the end of our era; the time when Orion ascends from heaven to defeat the Impostor lion that has usurped His Kingdom.

But, there are two other groups of seven stars, which comprise the constellations of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor and which in God’s plan of the ages, depict the place of safety that He will lead us to, after Orion defeats the enemy. And the crown (Corona Borealis) which shall be borne by Cepheus, as He is instituted or crowned King over His elect, also has seven visible stars. This is the culmination of human history, when the Impostor’s kingdom is finally deposed and it is signified by Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, located directly under His feet. The crown that He will wear is a crown of seven stars called the Corona Borealis Septentrionalis. Who can fathom the magnificent power and wisdom of the Creator, who from the beginning declared the end and left us a witness in the stars? The prophet Amos alludes to the interconnection of these events, giving us a hint of what was known in times past by men of God.

“He who made the Pleiades and Orion and changes deep darkness into morning, who also darkens day into night, who calls the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the Lord is His name.” (Amos 5:8)

Perhaps the Mayans were right, perhaps Pleiades marked the time that God poured the waters of the sea on the surface of the earth and Orion shall be the time when day turns into darkness as the sun is diminished by a third of its power during the Great Tribulation.

The seven-day week is nothing less than the testimony that God created the world and everything in it. The universal acceptance of the Zodiac and the seven-day week is evidence that at some time in our past, since the creation of humanity, our ancestral “Mitochondrial Eve” had been given the truth, and this truth has been passed down to all of her offspring and the developing cultures gendered. It is a reasonable assumption that these primordial elements of culture have been funneled through Noah from our ancient antediluvian civilization; the First Earth.

For the purpose of introducing the reader to this fascinating study, I will attempt to highlight and abbreviate as much as possible the entire Zodiac narrative.

It is largely to Joseph Seiss’ great work over a century ago that I am indebted greatly for the inspiration to gather the information offered in this area and the expansion of this study.

I therefore, highly recommend reading The Gospel in the Stars by Joseph Seiss first published in 1882 and now made available by Kregel Publications, in Grand Rapids Michigan and Dr. James Kennedy’s The Real Meaning of the Zodiac published by Coral Ridge Ministries, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

In considering the origin of the Zodiac, Joseph Seiss wrote:

“Historical astronomy is at a loss to give us any other information on the subject. Here is the Solar Zoad, with it’s twelve signs and their 36 Decans; here is the Lunar Zoad, with it’s 28 mansions, each with it’s own particular stars, and each with it’s very impressive name; and here are the noted seven chiefs playing a part in the traditions, sciences, theologies, and superstitions of earth, as brilliant as their splendid display in the sky; but whence and how they were framed into these systems or came to place so conspicuous, acceptation so universal, and life so commanding and imperishable, even the science that handles them most is quite unable to explain.” (The Gospel in the Stars, Joseph Seiss, Kregel Publications, Grand Rapids Michigan, 1972, pg22)

As the sun seems to cut a path through the stars during its annual course, the line of that path as it transverses the 12 constellations of the Zodiac is called the Ecliptic. Grouped around that ecliptic are the twelve signs of the Zodiac each with three corresponding constellations called Decans, which further elaborate on the central message of the sign they belong to. The fact that the sun appears from the earth as the preeminent body in the heavenlies is quite significant in terms of symbolism. It is the sun that travels into each of the houses of the Zodiac and therefore is construed as ruling over them. As the preeminent heavenly body in the sky, the sun is the symbol of God. All the houses of the Zodiac are centered upon the path of the sun. That is to say, the ecliptic of the sun is what guides us to the different constellations that carry with them the symbolism of their message. There are many other constellations in the heavens, but only the ones in the ecliptic of the sun and moon are of symbolic significance.

It is for this reason that the sun played such an important part in the ancient religions. Not because they were ignorant, primitive, unintelligent and credulous men worshipping a ball of fire, but because they were ignorant, but intelligent men that were deceived into worshipping the symbol for God instead of God. In much the same way modern men today worship a statue of Jesus rather than Jesus himself. The historical process of the evolution of religion is not one of an evolution into a higher state of consciousness, but rather a downward devolution into the depths of deception. The historical trend is always downward not upward. The trend is, in my estimation, the theological mirror of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. For human history has shown conclusively that with the passage of time a higher state of theological entropy ensues.

The theological significance of the moon is also critical. The moon creates no light of its own, yet it is the second most preeminent body in the heavenlies, as viewed from the earth. It was made to reflect the light of the sun upon the earth. The moon was to ancient man therefore, a symbol of a mediator of light to humanity during the night. And in a lesser sense, it also applies to humanity, in that we are to reflect God’s light through His Spirit in us. Without the sun there would be no light coming from the moon. Without God there would be no light or life in humanity, we would be a dark and lifeless nothing. More specifically the moon represents the light of the sun upon humanity at our darkest moment, during the night. Even more specifically it represents the venue upon which the light of the sun will reach the earth. That is to say, it literally represents the Messiah and secondarily represents Eve, who is the mother of humanity and the venue through which the Messiah will come from God to bring light unto the world. In the same manner it is also, collaterally representative of and the Virgin Mary; for they are also a conduit through which the primordial prophecy of Genesis 3:15 was fulfilled.

It is not by coincidence then that the disks of the sun and moon have relatively the same angular size as viewed from the Earth; approximately half of a degree. Thus to those observing the disks, they are of equal size in relation to our position here on the planet, symbolizing its unity in purpose and essence as a giver of light to humanity, and displaying the interconnection between the Messiah and the Father. It is for this reason that the moon covers the sun exactly during a solar eclipse. The equality in size speaks of their equality, yet the fact that the Messiah willingly limited himself to become incarnate is symbolized by the fact that the moon is reflecting the light of the sun and is dimmer in intensity, yet the light that it gives is no less the light of the sun.

But, the moon plays an indispensable role in stabilizing the earth. Were it not for the moon the axis of the earth would wobble wildly as it hurdles through space causing the oblique angle to shift as much as 90%. This would destroy the stability of our weather systems and cause giant floods as the oceans would be pulled with enormous tidal shifts. The spin of the earth would be much faster, perhaps a day would last only four hours. If it were not for the moon, life on earth could simply not exist. It is the moon that stabilizes the earth and allows humanity to thrive, and this is the very thing that the Messiah does for humanity.

But, mankind has slowly but surely separated itself from the life giver. Several decades ago, man walked on the moon and during one of these visits a special mirror was placed on the surface of the moon that allows scientists to measure the distance from the earth. A laser beam is shot from the earth and bounces from the moon’s surface in that mirror. The time that it takes for the beam to return to earth allows the scientists to measure exactly the distance to the moon. Scientists have discovered that the moon is in fact moving away from the earth at the rate of 1 and ½ inches per year. This corresponds to the fact that humanity is in fact moving away from the precepts taught to us by God, as we spin ever faster into the vortex created by Satan the great Impostor. Therefore the interplay between the sun, moon and earth is of immense importance to the ancients and the number three is held with the same importance as the number seven in all ancient cultures.

The Primordial and Preeminent Prophecy

Throughout the zodiac, there is a preeminent primordial message that is repeated over and over again, which underscores the universal cosmic battle between the forces of good and evil; this is undoubtedly the singular most important message of God to humanity.

The very first prophecy recorded within the Scriptures is the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 and it encapsulates the basic prophetic message of God after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. The Hebrew word translated as Eden is “edhen” and it means, “delight.” The Assyrian inscriptions called it “Idinu”, the Akkadians called it “edin” and in their language it meant, “a plain.” The climate in the prediluvian world was such that clothing was not necessary and the fertility of the ground incomparable to today’s world. Here life thrived as never after and the ideal habitat for life was lost when Satan deceived humanity.  As a result of Satan’s deception of Eve, God ironically condemned Satan to suffer his ultimate defeat through the seed of the woman he deceived. This is the great cosmic justice, which brings the great cosmic battle between good and evil to its proper and just conclusion.  The stage is set for the cosmic battle that will ensue, as it is foretold that Satan will wound this individual (otherwise known in the various cultures of the world as the Deliverer or Hero Figure or Messiah) in the heel, but He will in turn wound Satan in the head; a wound that is symbolic of a lethal deathblow. Eve is therefore the instrument through which the light ray of God, that is the Messiah, would enter into the darkened world and defeat the Devil; finally bringing the Great Opposer to justice.

It is for this reason that the moon represents the Great Mothers of every culture, such as Isis, Venus, Diana, Aphrodite etc., (for greater details see the chapter on the Celts in The Secret of the Lost Knowledge). We now know that many of the names given to the gods of the different cultures and which have erroneously been assumed to be representing different gods are in fact referring to the same original name for God, which was the name of the God, which Noah worshipped. The names are different because the languages have evolved differently, but philologists have been able to trace their philological roots to the very same name for God.

“Scholars now know that no less than eleven basic idioms are related in the same way as Latin and Sanskrit. Among them are Tocharic (spoken by an extinct Russian steppe people), Indo -Iranian, Hittite, Armenian, Slavic, Baltic, Greek, Illyrian, Italic, Germanic, and Celtic. From these almost 50 modern languages have developed, from Russian to Serbo-Croat and Norwegian. Their root, the Ur - language, has been similarly reconstructed by scholars, though they cannot tell if it was ever actually spoken… Indeed contemporary scholars have reached virtually along parallel lines of thought, the conclusion that there must have been a people speaking Indo-European, whose members must therefore count as the ancestors of the Celts, as of the Indians, Armenians and Romans.” (The Celts, by Gerhard Herm, Barnes and Noble, NY, 1993, pg.72, 75) (Emphasis mine)

At the end of the nineteenth century a formidable German scholar named Frederick Max Muller, involved in studying the science of language and early Indian religion at Oxford , established some important undeniable philological links between the names of Greek gods and Hindu gods spoken in Sanskrit from the Vedic literature.

He then discovered that this philological link also applied to many of the names of the deities in the ancient European tradition. The science of philology then scientifically established the fact that the vast array of gods in the European pantheon actually devolved from a common origin shared with the Hindus.

The ancient “sky god” of the Hindus in the Vedic tradition was known as “Dyaus pita”. This is one and the same as the Indo-European God of the Ur people known as “Dyeus pater” or “Sky Father”.  The Greeks know Dyeus as Zeus, He is also known in Latin as Deus, in Spanish as Dios, in ancient Irish as Dia, and in Iranian as Deva; all of these names developing from the same common root word.

The ancient progenitors of the Celts had been worshipping Dyeus for some 2,000 years after the Great Flood, before they ventured eastward and southward to India and also northward and westward into Europe. By Caesar’s time, some 4000 years after the flood, this same God was still recognized as “Dis pater”, the “Sky father” of all, from whom the Celts still claimed they originated from. Of course polytheism had by this time firmly established the worship of countless gods and the worship of Dyeus had been grossly neglected and relegated to the position of just another god instead of the only One and True God.

“Caesar who instinctively but not unjustifiably compared the gods of the Gauls with those of the Romans, mentions a father of the gods, a Dis pater, whom the Celts reckon to be father of their tribe. They say they have learned this from the Druids.’ There is no reason to doubt this assertion. This celestial patriarch may have been a Chronos who was replaced as in other religions…” (The Celts, by Gerhard Herm, Barnes and Noble, NY, 1993, pg.156) (Emphasis mine)

Many of the later names in the Celtic pantheon, which we take to mean other gods, were in fact just derivations from this original name for God. For instance the god ‘Tyr’ in is one and the same as ‘Teiwaz’ in the Scandinavian countries and is derived from the Indo European root word Dyeus and which later also devolved to Thor:

…philologists, for instance, derived Tyr’s name from a word for god represented by Latin ‘deus’, Iranian ‘deva’, and Old Irish ‘dia’.” (The Lost Beliefs of Northern Europe by Hilda Ellis Davidson Barnes and Noble, NY, 1993, pg.147)

Within the Hebrew Scriptures we find that many names are given to the One True God, yet it is understood intrinsically that these different names are not the names of different gods but titles to the same All Powerful Creator. To suggest that the Hebrews would within their scriptures espouse anything less than a fierce monotheism would be simply erroneous. Yet we find the names Jehovah, Elohim, Ariel, Adonay and even some, such as the Second Temple Jews of the Qumran community venture to include Melchizedek on that list. Each name adds a subtle nuance to the character and office of the creator, but unquestionably refers to the very same God. The same applies to the Zodiac in this regard.

Now, coupled with the fact that in most of these cultures the understanding of the people was that God had given them the Zodiac as a prophetic message of the future of humanity, we can begin to understand that humanity was never without the revelation of the Almighty to guide them into truth and into “The Way”.

The Greeks for example wholeheartedly believed that the Zodiac was given to them by Zeus and this we have recorded by some such as Aratus (400BC-350BC) in “Phaenomena” and Eratosthenes in his work “Katasterismoi.”

“It is interesting to see in the history of this description to mankind. Aratus, who lived from 400BC to 350 BC, wrote a very famous work about the heavens called Phaenomena, in which he described all of the constellations and figures of the heavens. Interestingly, Aratus was a native of Tarsus , as was the Apostle Paul. His poem Diosemia was the most famous and most popular Greek poem next to the two famous poems of Homer, The Iliad and The Odyssey.

This poem, which is a description of all of the signs of the heavens (of the Zodiac) is quoted in the New Testament in Acts 17: 28, where Paul says: ‘For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, foe we are also His offspring.’ That is a quote from Diosemia. Just a few lines later, Aratus says in the same poem (and he is attributing all of this to Zeus, who was the head of the Greek pantheon of gods): ‘Since he himself has fixed in heaven these signs..’” .” (The Real Meaning of the Zodiac, Dr James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., 1997, pg.17) (Emphasis mine)

The constellations that are within the ecliptic of the sun and the moon are therefore significant in explaining the interplay between God and humanity. Each of these houses has a central theme that is described, not only by the name of the particular house, but also by the names of the very stars that comprise the constellations. These ancient names have been handed down through the ages in the different cultures, deriving them from the descendants of Noah that repopulated our planet after the Great Flood. This is an undeniable attestation to the prophetic design of the author of the Zodiac.

Modern astronomers as a result of greater technology have increased the number of stars that we are able to see and have therefore named “new” stars. But our ancestors have long ago named the stars visible with the naked eye, since man first looked up at the sky. Modern astrology has also changed the original starting point of the ecliptic. Today the Zodiac is said to begin in the house of Capricorn, but in the ancient custom, the best authorities all agree the ecliptic began in Virgo and ended in Leo.

Dr. James Kennedy in his wonderful little book The Real Meaning of the Zodiac comments on this matter:

“We may find the key to that riddle in the Sphinx. I know it will surprise you, but the Sphinx actually unlocks the mystery of the Zodiac. It is fascinating to note that in the Temple of Esneh in , there is a great sky painting in the portico on the ceiling, which shows the whole picture of the Zodiac with all its constellations. Between the figures of Virgo, the Virgin, and Leo, the Lion there is carved the figure of the Sphinx with the head of a woman and the body of a lion. The woman’s face is looking at the virgin and the lion’s tail is pointing at Leo, telling us that we begin with the virgin and end with Leo. That same Sphinx is found in the same place in a number of other great paintings of the Mazzaroth (or the constellations of the Zodiac), in other parts of the Near East, going back as much as 4,000 years, telling us the original place of beginning.” (The Real Meaning of the Zodiac, Dr. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries, Ft Lauderdale Fl., 1997 pg. 21, 22)

Now it may be confusing at first sight, that the real Sphinx has the head of a man while others, such as the one described in the Temple of Esneh , clearly display the head of a woman. In the inscriptions on the stela placed in front of the Sphinx by Seti I, the Sphinx is clearly associated with Horus and Osiris. There is no mystery here, as the moon alternately represents both Eve and the Messiah, so does the Sphinx. Horus is the son of Osiris, who is the God of Heaven associated with the constellation Orion and He is borne of Isis . He is the Son of God that would come to rule the world, as a lion, and would be born of the seed of the woman Isis (Eve). In the Egyptian pantheon Eve is Isis and conceived Horus immaculately, therefore the virgin, Virgo is none other than Eve and she is Isis . It is clear that the ancient Egyptians knew that Horus (the Messiah figure) would come through the lineage of Isis and would rule the world in the end of time as the Lion, thus the leonine body of the Sphinx; the female head of the Sphinx then represents Virgo, while the male head represents both Horus and Osiris.  The Sphinx then simply reflects that message in the Zodiac.

The fact that the Sphinx is represented in both the form of Isis and Horus simply serves to accentuate the point that through Isis would come Horus. Thus the concept of Horus and Isis is united in the Sphinx. But that is not all!  The concept is also intertwined in the constellation of Horus in the Egyptian Zodiac (our Canis Major). The major star in the constellation of Horus and the brightest star in the heavens is Sirius or Sothis to the Egyptians. Sothis is Isis in their cosmogony; therefore there is no contradiction in the symbolism of the Sphinx as a woman or as a man. To the ancient Egyptian, accustomed to this dualistic conceptualization, the two are symbolic of the Genesis 3:15 prophecy of God entering into the world through human agency to defeat the Devil, whom they know as Set.

“In depictions of Isis , the snake under her feet is the force of darkness that she overcomes (that is, Set, whose classical Greek counterpart is the Monster Typhon). Osiris’ rebirth coincides with the yearly flooding of the Nile . The constellation Virgo is also associated with the Sphinx, the female head (Virgo) on the body of a lion (Leo) at the time of the yearly flood… Isis is often represented as carrying the infant Horus, and one can see similar representations of the Virgin Mary carrying Jesus, and portrayed with a moon at her feet and stars on her robe, symbols that also link her with Isis.” (Mythology of the Zodiac, Marianne Mc Donald, Metro Books, NY, 2000, pg. 65, 66)

The archaeological opinion that the Sphinx was constructed more recently is actually a new development for most of the old authorities ascribed to it a quite ancient origin.

“But all these figurings, ancient as some of them may be, are modern when compared with the still enduring Sphinx generally claimed as prehistoric, perhaps of the times of the Hor-she-shu, long anterior to the first historical Egyptian ruler, Menes; and constructed, according to Greek tradition, with Virgo’s head on Leo’s body, from the fact that the sun passed through these two constellations during the inundation of the Nile.” (Star Names their Lore and Meanings, Richard Hinckley Allen, Dover Publication, NY, 1963, pg 465)

There is, from an astrological perspective, good reason to believe that the Sphinx may have been built at the turn of the epoch when Virgo gave way to Leo in the vernal equinox and then the symbolism all fits neatly together:  That is, in the time that the ancient Egyptians referred to as the Zep Tepi, “the first time”, the Sphinx was built by man, as he was expelled from the Garden of Eden and the end was foretold at the beginning. From the very time of the Zep Tepi it was known that Osiris (Orion) would rise and that Horus would, as the Son of God, come to deliver humanity from the forces of Evil and establish His Kingdom upon the Earth (for more information on the age of the Sphinx see The Secret of the Lost Knowledge).

Each of the twelve houses of the Zodiac are, figuratively speaking, a snapshot, or a freeze-frame subplot within the greater overall plot of the gospel story we know through our Hebrew Scriptures. The story is told and retold in each house with a different emphasis given in each of the three Decans associated with it that create a complete prophetic picture of humanity and our relation to both God and Satan.

It must be understood by the reader, with a decidedly modern and even possibly western outlook on reality, that the ancients had a different way of looking at the world. They thought in terms that were more symbolic and often with dual implications, refining a concept by its repetitive use with slight changes or variances that brought out the desired nuances. This is very foreign to modern man’s way of thinking. We tend to think in a one dimensional, straight line process, while the ancients thought on a multi-leveled and forwardly progressing circular form. Freud recognized this multi-level form of thinking and called it the “Condensation of Symbolic Meaning”; one symbol contains multiple levels of meanings, such as in dreams and other operations of the unconscious.

As stated previously, the Hebrews, for example, used different names for the same God, but by using the descriptive attributes of each name a different innuendo was affected. For example, the Hebrew name used for God, “Abba” carries with it the connotation of an endearing Dad; the name Jehovah Rehoboth means, the Lord Our Healer, but is quite different from the name Elohim, which is also speaking of the same God, but referring to His office as the Supreme God of the universe.

There are many names given to the One True God, the Almighty, The Ancient of Days, The Lord of Hosts, the Redeemer, The Holy One; yet there is but one God.

In the Zodiac this is also true, each house speaks often of the same person using a different name or title to refine the point that is being emphasized. It is difficult for a westerner to conclude that the Lamb of God is one and the same as the Lion of God, but if we are to understand the Zodiac we must be prepared to understand the symbolic, multi-leveled nature of the mindset of ancient man.

Sadly, as time has worn on, Satan has corrupted the message of the stars and has created or more accurately, invented different gods out of the different pictures of the same God set out in the gospel in the stars. Some of this corruption can be credited to the fact that as the nations were separated into the different languages the name for God was changed and the different cultures began to slowly corrupt the truth with the passage of time, so that in each particular culture certain peculiarities developed as they diverged.  But, when studied from a commonalities perspective it is easily discerned that the basic attributes of these gods were the same. Therefore, not only through the science of philology, but also through the commonalities ascribed to the character of God displayed by these different cultures, we can discern their ancestral unity. In addition, the stories of creation, the great Flood and the dispersion of the nations through the Tower of Babel are reflected to one degree or another by every culture, proving the universal attestation of their common origin and the space-time historicity of these events.

Through the passage of time, the ancient true religion passed down by Noah’s descendents continued to deteriorate and in the area of modern day Iran (Persia, the original home of the Aryans) the worship of Mithras and Varuna developed at about the same time that the names of the One true God in all the other cultures began to take on a different entity.  Throughout the Middle East , both of these Indo-European gods upstaged the worship of the one true God, which the Aryans called Dyaus Pitar or Sky Father, and this same process was duplicated worldwide.

Originally, the Greeks knew him as Zeus, in Latin the Romans referred to him as Ju-piter (Jupiter), in the Northern Celtic tradition he was known as Teiwaz/ Tyr, which later developed into Thor. The Santal people of northern called Him Thakur Jiu, or the Genuine God. The Santal word for God, ‘Jiu’ was derived from the Aryan word for God, ‘Dyaus’ and was not much different than the Roman Ju-piter.

When the languages were confounded the name of the Lord changed with the different nations that were formed, but the resulting names all referred to the God of Adam and Noah. The same attributes were ascribed to the One True God and creator in all the other major cultures of the world. In Egypt, He was called initially Atum Ptah; in the Ohlmec/Mayan culture He was called Zamna/Tonatiuh; in China He was called Shang Ti (linguistically related to El Shaddai of the Hebrew scriptures which means The Almighty); in Korea He was called Hananim; in South America the Inca called Him Viracocha; in Ethiopia He was called Magano and lastly in the Hebrew tradition he is known as Jehovah, all these names for the same God describe the same omnipotent and omniscient singular Creator of the universe. (For a more in depth study of the different cultures refer to The Secret of the Lost Knowledge).

The polytheistic aberrations began to gain ascendancy at the time that Aries was rising over the eastern horizon during the Spring Equinox (Vernal Equinox). It was at this time that the Zodiac was changed and Virgo was removed from its proper place at the beginning of the ecliptic and replaced with Capricorn. And it was at this time that the ancient Mystery Religion brought the singular postdiluvian civilization to an end through the resulting judgment of the confounding of the languages. Unfortunately, it did not take long for these occult Mystery Religions to gain acceptance by most of humanity in the newly developing nations. And it is for this reason that Abraham was called out of the Ur of the Chaldees to begin a new nation that would follow after the One True God.

At this point, I would like to familiarize the reader with the science of numerology and with certain astronomical concepts that are important in understanding the ancient astrology and that might facilitate the understanding of the Zodiac. It is my hope that this understanding would naturally lead one to appreciate the magnitude of God’s foreknowledge and His sovereignty in the affairs of the universe.

The Equinoxes

Astrologically speaking, our year is divided into four sections, which are designated by the light of the sun. There is the Spring Equinox, which is that day of the year when the light of the day is shining for an equal duration of time as the darkness of night. That is, the length of the daylight and the length of the nighttime are of equal duration. This marks the beginning of the ascendancy of light. In other words, from that point forward the length of the daylight will increase while the nighttime or darkness will decrease.

This continues until the Summer Solstice, when the daylight has reached its maximum duration and the nighttime it’s minimum. At this point the daylight begins to retreat and the nighttime begins to increase, until the Autumn Equinox, when once again the daylight and the nighttime are of equal duration. But, now the darkness is ascending; the nighttime becomes greater than the daylight and will continue to do so, until the Winter Solstice, when the nighttime has reached it’s maximum and the daylight has reached it’s minimum duration.

The Spring Equinox is of extreme theological importance to the ancients, because it symbolized the ascendancy of light over darkness or good over evil; this is also referred to as the vernal equinox.

The Autumn Equinox on the other hand is of immense importance to Satan, and to the proponents of the Mystery Religions, because it symbolizes the opposite; for this reason his High Holidays or festivals are celebrated at this time and it is at this time, more than any other time, which human sacrifices were made.

The celebrated date of the birth of Jesus has been erroneously accepted as December 25, which in fact is more related to the winter solstice and depicts rather the height of darkness and betrays its source. The celebration of the 25th of December emanated from the celebration of Babylonian gods instituted by Nimrod and his mother. The shepherds, who were in the fields when the angel had appeared unto them, witnessed the birth of Jesus, according to the Gospel accounts. This means that the sheep were grazing and places the time more in connection with the vernal equinox or spring, rather than December, when the sheep would have been penned up protected from the cold. Before the institution of the December 25 date by the “Mother Church ” the birth of Jesus had been celebrated during the Spring Equinox. Therefore, the spring date not only correlates to the internal evidence within the Scriptures, but also to the more ancient tradition of the church.  The Catholic Church, as a way to combat the pagan celebration on that date, implemented this December date.

DIAGRAM 1: The Four Cardinal Points in the Calendar

  1. Spring Equinox — the length of day and night are equal, but the daylight from this point forward is getting longer. (Symbolizes the ascension of light over darkness)
  2. Summer Solstice — the longest daylight and shortest nighttime. (Symbolizes the epitome of light or good over evil)
  3. Autumn Equinox — the length of day and night is equal, but the night from this point forward is getting longer. (Symbolizes the ascension of darkness over light)
  4. Winter Solstice — the longest nighttime, and the shortest daylight. (Symbolizes the epitome of evil over good)

The Precession of the Equinoxes

Because our earth has a slight wobble, while it is spinning on its axis, much like that of a top that is slowing down, there is a 1 degree shift every 72 years in the position of the luminaries in the sky. The effect of this creates an illusion that the constellations are actually shifting in the sky in comparison to a fixed point in our horizon. In actuality, the stars are not moving, we are. Well, the stars are moving from their origination point (the point of the singularity), but not in a visibly perceptible way to the human eye. We are able to know their path in relation to us in observing either the red-shift or blue-shift of their light; the Doppler effect. Astronomers know that all of the stars are moving away from a central point of origin, the zero point where the Big Bang occurred. But, the span of distance is so great that the perceptible movement is negligible from our point of view on the planet Earth.

However, the wobble on the Earth creates the illusion that the stars in the heavens are actually moving from their position in the sky, at the rate of one degree every 72 years.  Because each house of the Zodiac is approximately contained within 30 degrees, there is a complete shift from one house to the next house on the ecliptic every 2,160 years.  There are 12 houses in the Zodiac making it (12 x 30 degrees = 360 degrees) one complete circle at the end of all of the houses. Each house then appears to remain in the position of rising over the vernal equinox for the duration of 2,160 years, until the next sign enters into play. (72 years/ 1degree x 30 degrees/ house= 2,160 years for each house)

Looking due east at the horizon on the day of the Spring Equinox, today we see the constellation Pisces rising just before the morning sun rises. It began to rise over the horizon at about the time that Christ was born. Now that we have entered the third millennia its course is almost at an end. Soon, the sign of Aquarius will rise in its place over the vernal equinox.

Now, this is significant because the symbol used by the early church to signify that they were aligned with Christ is the Ictus, the fish, which is represented by the constellation Pisces.  The symbol of the cross was actually not then viewed exactly in the same way modern Christians see it. Although the symbol of the cross has existed in almost every culture throughout the development of all the civilizations, to men living in the time of the Roman crucifixion, the cross was an abhorred and feared symbol. It represented death and was viewed in much the same way we presently view the “electric chair”. The sting of its message has dimmed through time and Christians recognize the fact that through this death life has come, thus the symbol of the cross has been again recognized to mean life after death.

At that time however, the fish was the most common symbol of Christ and specifically the Church. Christ gave the call to discipleship for the Apostles and leaders of the early church, in this same context:  “Follow me and I will make you fishers of man”. It is not by coincidence, then that Pisces began to rise exactly at the time of Christ’s birth. Each sign lasts approximately 2,160 years rising over the eastern horizon on the vernal equinox, before the next sign begins to appear at the heliacal rising of the sun. Pisces is therefore, the sign of the Church Age and we are still presently in this epoch. It just so happens that depicted in this sign, are two fish tied by the tail to the head of Cetus, the Leviathan (the Sea Monster that is associated with Satan). The two fish tied at the tail are of course, symbolic of the fact that both Jews and Gentiles, which comprise the church, are now hampered or held back by Satan and his hoard of demons.

As the signs change in the heliacal rising on the vernal equinox a shift in the characteristics of the age or epoch is correspondingly noticed and since this seems to have held true for all of our past history, we expect it to hold true for our future history.

For example; the next sign that will rise over the vernal equinox, after Pisces has run its course, is Aquarius; the sign of the promised one that would bring peace on earth and reconstitute its waters. In this sign there is one large fish swimming freely in the water poured out of the bowl of Aquarius. The singular fish is symbolic of the fact that both Jew and Gentile believers will be united in Jerusalem; during which time, Satan will be chained in the bottomless pit. That is, he will no longer bind us, as in the time of Pisces.

Prior to Pisces the sign rising on the Spring Equinox was Aries, the lamb. It just so happens that Aries began to rise over the horizon at about the same time that God called Abraham out of the Ur of the Chaldees, and it is therefore symbolic of . The symbol of the ram has played an important part in the entire history of .  It was with his hand held high, holding the knife that would plunge into Isaac, when the Angel of the Lord stopped Abraham and provided for him a ram caught in the thicket.  It was the blood of the lamb on the doorpost of the Israelites that caused the Angel of Death to “Pass over” them. It was through the blowing of the Shophar the horn of the ram, that the walls of Jericho fell on the seventh trumpet (by the way this is symbolic of future events in the Great Tribulation). Twice daily in the Temple , an unblemished lamb was sacrificed, one in the morning and one in the evening. This is called the oblation, and symbolized the propitiation that would come through the Messiah and His sacrifice as the Lamb of God.  The lamb is meek and is easily slaughtered; yet this is the symbol of the deliverance of ; for the Messiah came as a lamb to be slaughtered. But, this was foretold long ago by Isaiah, when he prophesied that the Anointed One would give His life in propitiation for the sins of the world.

Prior to the sign of Aries, Taurus rose on the eastern horizon on the Spring Equinox. Now, the reader might already suspect by this point that the sign of Taurus began to rise about the time of the Great Flood and that is precisely what happened for Taurus is a sign of judgment. Taurus is a fierce and awesome bull coming to judge the rebellious earth in the form of the Great Flood. There are two major signs of the zodiac that depict God as a fierce and awesome judge; these are the signs of Taurus and Leo. And there is one sign, associated always with these two signs of judgment, which depicts God as the regenerating God that brings new life after judgment and that is the sign of Aquarius.

As we go back in time following the precession of the Equinoxes the plan of the ages unfolds within the Zodiac. Each new sign over the vernal equinox spells the beginning of a new epoch distinct from the others. Each epoch spells a time in which God devises a different way to reach mankind with His eternal and unchanging message of forgiveness and love and each ends with a special judgment of the rebellion of man introduced within that time frame. By following the precession of the Equinoxes one develops a timetable from which God’s cycle of time is neatly divided into two almost 7,000-year halves. Whether or not this is exact, I will let the reader decide. In order for the reader to better visualize this I have formed the following charts.

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen… ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’…’I am the First and the Last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades’.” (Revelation 1:7-8, 17a, 18)

The primordial and preeminent prophecy of Genesis 3:15 is consummated with the arrival of the One who has the keys of death and Hades. These are an artificial and unintended intrusion into our planet; a byproduct of sin, as a result of the deception of the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. It was at this time that Scorpio was first seen in the Winter Solstice, representing the zenith of his power. That is, the zenith of the powers of darkness, when he deceived Adam and Eve resulting in the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The next time he appeared was in the Autumn Equinox after the Great Flood, when he deceived the inhabitants of the Second Earth to follow after the Mystery Occult Religions of the Serpent and brought upon the world the judgment of the Tower of Babel , resulting in the confounding of the languages and the creation of the separate nations. Here, is wisdom for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, for the High Holidays of all occult religions in our Second Earth are on the Autumn Equinox. But although this is the Equinox that announces the coming ascendancy of darkness, the true reality, witnessed by the precession of the Equinoxes is that evil is in fact losing power, for Scorpio is marching backwards from the Winter Solstice in the Garden of Eden to the Autumn Equinox after the Great Flood. The last time he appears is at the end of the Church Age, when he again briefly rules the world through the Antichrist. But, his power at this point has diminished and it is but an illusion for Scorpio is now at the Summer Solstice the time when the power of light is at its zenith and for this reason, his reign shall be quickly defeated by the returning Messiah, which will come in the Autumn Equinox as Leo, the Lion of Judah depicted by both the Hebrew Festival of Yom Kippur, which is celebrated in the Autumn Equinox and by the Egyptian Sphinx. We will delve into this matter more exhaustively later in my book, The Secret of the Lost Knowledge.

If you notice, the first time that Scorpio, which represents Satan, was seen; he was rising over the eastern horizon on the Winter Solstice; this is the time of the zenith of the ascendancy of darkness over light. It was at this time that he gained brief control of almost the entire antediluvian world with his ill begotten brood of Nephilim. All but eight people in the entire world had turned from God, only Noah and his family followed the Way of God. But, his rule was short lived, since God caused the Great Flood immediately after, which destroyed all that he had gained and with it the First Earth. Each consecutive time he appears, he is more under the control of the light. This is the symbolic evidence of his weakening in spite of the illusion of his exterior appearance. That is, he is moving from the Winter Solstice backward to the time of the Spring Equinox, the symbol for the ascendancy of light over darkness (see the previous chart).

By the time that Satan enters into the Great Tribulation, he will have already been kicked out of Heaven and confined with his demons to the earth. His powers will have been greatly reduced from the once majestic angel known as Lucifer, who was the greatest angel in heaven. Although he may at the end of this epoch eventually manage to coerce the inhabitants of the Second Earth into a global united government, in which he will seem to appear as strong as before, in reality he is infinitely weaker. The two bands tied to the tails of the two fish in Pisces can therefore be seen from another angle: Pisces is not allowing Leviathan to have free reign! He may have political control, but the harvest of souls that the Church will reap in the end times will far exceed any other time in the entire history of humanity. Thus the church will foil the much connived “Plan on Earth”, which his Secret Societies have long been patiently executing. Then, when every last soul that can be saved is saved, the hammer of Thor will come down on Leviathan like a lightning bolt from the east to the west. The Lion of Judah will descend and with His roar, He will end the Second Earth, once again spoiling Satan’s bid for supremacy. Michael the Archangel, his previous understudy, will now overpower him, chain him and drag him to Hades also known as Sheol in the Hebrew language. By the time he is thrown into the bottomless pit, they will marvel at his weakness and exclaim:

“They will respond and say to you, ‘Even you have been made weak as we, you have become like us. Your pomp and the music of your harps have been brought down to Sheol (the bottomless pit); Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you, and worms are your coverings. How you have fallen from Heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, you who have weakened the nations!’… Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit, Those who see you will gaze at you. They will ponder over you , saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world like a wilderness, who did not allow his prisoners to go home?’” (Isaiah 14:10-12, 15-17) (Emphasis mine)

Virgo appears three times, the first time when Eve was created, the second time when all but the descendants of Noah and his wife survived the Great Flood, and the third time is when Mary gave birth to Jesus. Thus the seed of Eve was funneled through the wife of Noah and through Mary to bring forth the one that would wound Satan in the head; this is the primordial prophecy of Genesis 3:15 as told by the witness in the sky. Thus, the sign of Virgo represents the human medium, through which the Anointed One shall enter into space and time to foil the plan of the Serpent and bring upon him his ultimate defeat. It is therefore no great surprise that all the ancient cultures understood Virgo to be the mother of the Messiah and depicted her holding the spica of the seed in her hand.

“Eratosthenes and Avienus identified her with Isis, the thousand named goddess, with the wheat ears in her hand that she afterwards dropped to form the Milky Way, or clasping in her hands the young Horus, the infant Southern sun-god, the last of the divine kings. This very ancient figuring reappeared in the Middle Ages as the Virgin Mary with the child Jesus, Shakespeare alluding to it in Titus Andronicus as the, Good Boy in Virgo’s lap.” (Star Names and their Meaning, Richard Hinckley Allen, Dover Publication, N.Y. originally published in 1899 and republished in 1963, pg462, 463)

It is significant that every time Scorpio appears in one of the cardinal points, the constellations that depict the Messiah are also present. Leo, Taurus and Aquarius are one and the same person and He appears each time that Scorpio appears to bring judgment upon him and his followers. It is conspicuous by their presence and undeniable that each time there was a major judgment on this Earth Leo, Taurus and Aquarius were depicted in one of the cardinal points of the seasons. Leo is the symbol of the Messiah in the First Earth, Taurus is the symbol of the Messiah in the Second Earth and Aquarius is the symbol of the Messiah in the Third Earth. The last of the appearances of Leo is after the end of the Church Age; that is, the time when Pisces is rising on the Vernal Equinox.  He then reappears during the Age of Aquarius, in the time period which corresponds to the Autumn Equinox and which coincides with the Yom Kippur Holiday, which is, not coincidentally, symbolic of the return of the Messiah and the defeat of the Antichrist and Satan (see The Secret of the Lost Knowledge).

DIAGRAM 3: The Five Judgments of Death

  1. The expulsion from the Garden of Eden — The entrance of death and decay into the spiritual and physical universe. (Scorpio in Winter Solstice.)
  2. The Great Deluge — The death of a stable geological environment. The entrance of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tidal waves and natural catastrophes such as floods. (Scorpio in Autumn Equinox.)
  3. The Judgment of the Tower of Babel — The death of humanity as a single people with one language; the separation of the singular brotherhood of man into separate nations.
  4. The Great Tribulation – The Great Earthquake of the Battle of Armageddon — The death of the nations. (Scorpio in Summer Solstice.)
  5. The Fire and Brimstone Judgment at the end of the Millennial Kingdom, when the Messiah rules from the earth, after which shall come The Great White Throne Judgment, which shall spell the eternal death of Satan and the death of death and Hades, for at this time they shall be cast into the Lake of Fire. And Scorpio will finally be out of the picture, for then he no longer appears in any of the Cardinal Points.

Time is roughly divided by the Great Flood into two periods comprised of four epochs each, according to the timetable set up by the precession of the Equinoxes. If we assume that Adam and Eve did not age during the time they dwelt in the Garden of Eden, since the Second Law of Thermodynamics did not exist before the Fall, then the time before the fall may be of an unknown number of years as measured from the moment of the original creation. However, if we assume that the expulsion from the Garden was at the turn of the cycle of the epoch, as it is in the other judgments, then from that point, there is approximately 6,480 years to the time of the destruction of the antediluvian world.

From the time of the Great Flood to the time of the coming of Aquarius to regenerate our planet from the relentless destruction of our planet caused by the ravages of the rebellion of man, there shall be also approximately some 6,480 years. No man knows the day or the hour, but we do know the approximate season. One may say in approximate, rough numbers that there were almost 7,000 years from the operation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics till the Great Deluge destroyed the First Earth and there will be also, roughly 7,000 years, which will include the regeneration of the Second Earth or the establishment of the Third Earth, the Millennial Kingdom of God for 1,000 years.

In the first 7,000 years of the First Earth, there were two judgments; the Expulsion from the Garden and the Great Flood. In the second 7,000 years, of the Second Earth, there will also be two judgments; the first has already happened- the Judgment of the Tower of Babel and the second is in the future- the Great Earthquake that destroys the Second Earth in the Battle of Armageddon.  The Third Earth will be destroyed by fire and brimstone at the end of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ; this is the final destruction of the planet. Time will have reached its Omega Point and the culmination of the Great Cosmic Battle between heaven and the Great Opposer will culminate, when Satan is judged and thrown into the Lake of Fire forever, never to hinder humanity again in the Great White Throne Judgment.

God shall create the Fourth and final Earth; the New Earth described in Revelation 21, and even Heaven, the holy habitation of the Lord of Hosts, shall be destroyed for it had been defiled by Satan in the battle against the Most High during his rebellion in the Great Tribulation period, when he was expulsed from it. The New Earth and the New Heaven shall then be the Arktos of Cepheus and we shall remember sin no more; pain shall be forgotten, for there shall be no more tears. Here we shall dwell eating of the tree of life forevermore, as it had originally been designed and intended for mankind, from the very beginning.

The number Pi is another number used by occult esoteric theology to specify very specific knowledge.  The significance of this number is no small thing to those, which are familiar with esoteric numerology. Geometry tells us that the circle is the length of the diameter times the number coefficient for Pi: (D x ~ = Circumference)

The diameter intersects precisely at the middle of the circle, and so we see that the time of the Great Flood, as well as the time of the end will intersect that circle or time cycle at midpoint. For this reason the symbol Pi is so important to those involved in the esoteric sciences because it signifies the time in which Satan claims he will gain supremacy over God. If you work out the number anagrammatically you will be surprised at the number, which you come up with.

Pi ~ = .31415 = anagrammatically 3+1+4+1+5= 14, which then is 1+4=5. But, the number 14 is also (7+7) (which coincidentally roughly represents the two halves of human history) More importantly, this number is representative of God, but usurped and used by the occult counterfeiters to represent Satan. The number 7 is associated with God the Father, the number 14 is associated with Christ’s sacrifice upon the cross (14th of Nissan is the Passover and the date of His sacrifice upon the cross). The number 5, which is the anagrammatic representation of 14, (1+4=5), is the number of Christ at His Second Coming and has been usurped and adopted by Satan as also his number, for he counterfeits God in most everything.

Those involved in the esoteric theology are keen to this fact and go one step further and claim that the number signifies the time of the takeover of the world by the Antichrist. If you consult the chapter on the occult science of numerology in the third book, The Ancient Wisdom, the reader will find that it is also the number of the name of Satan anagrammatically computed. This should not surprise us, for again, Satan counterfeits everything that God does.

To modern western man, the science of numerology is quite foreign and naturally we tend to be rather skeptical at its’ significance. But, to the ancients, it was quite the opposite; they had a complete grasp of these symbolic concepts, which modern man in his self-delusive absolute rationalism completely ignores. Today, only those involved in the study of the Scriptures and conversely the study of the esoteric or occult theology have even an inkling as to the true significance of numerology.

Numerology is clearly an aspect of God’s sovereignty and gives us a glimpse into His marvelous ability to dovetail every component of history in such a way that it becomes obvious to the seeker, that there is a Grand Design and a Grand Designer who is the undeniable “author and finisher of our faith”.

There is in the study of these ancient symbols an antipathetic element to modern man borne from the fact that in his modern naturalistic and rationalistic mentality, he views these things as so speculative and intangible that they become the object of scorn. I am also a product of our modern mindset and a skeptic at heart, but there is an undeniable certitude that I could not so easily shake off. Taken in its entirety, the repetitious nature of the symbols confirm over and over again that the symbols are in fact evidence of the Master Weaver’s pattern, set in stone and star before the foundation of the universe. Whether or not we accept the value of the science of numerology from the perspective of our rationalistic modern mind, the fact remains that if we are to understand the mind of man in the world of the ancients, then we must familiarize ourselves with the basic elements of this science or we will not be able to perceive the content of the message that was communicated by them. For this reason I have chosen to include a section on ancient numerology in the Appendix for the interested reader.

In this overview of the significance of numbers, I will try to give the reader a brief outline of the biblical significance of numbers. From this foundation then, as we explore the ancient religions, the numbers that are associated with it will have greater significance and will help to provide a basis from which it will become evident that a universal code has also been prevalent in all the major cultures. This is further evidence that the civilizations all emerged from a single culture and then digressed from a given point through the passage of time as Satan corrupted the truth, within the individual nations.

Now, it may be argued by some that these numbers are coincidental and highly speculative and are therefore to be taken with a grain of salt. Frankly speaking, I myself instinctively lean toward the rationalistic side, as a product of our modern society, but I have chosen to document these in the Appendix, as I have come to acknowledge that the universal nature of these numbers are too great for simple coincidence. May the God of wisdom and truth give us wisdom to discern the truth in spite of our cultural horseblinds.
